The Bible is very blunt with the genealogy of Jesus. It doesn’t gloss over the scandalous people. Jesus’ genealogy, this first Christmas tree, is here to prepare us for the unexpected way God works, and to show us what God can do with our lives— no matter who we are, where we are or what we have done.
