On a daily basis, Jonathan continues to be blown away by the love and support of the congregation at Marvin, along with the staff who are more welcoming and encouraging than he could have ever imagined.
With a passion for ministering to students, Jonathan wants to help every student within the student ministry find his or her calling in God's Kingdom and to live out the love and freedom that Jesus freely gives to all who ask in faith. Jonathan wants the atmosphere of the student ministry to be one that every student looks forward to and is the highlight of their week. Through the student ministry, students will make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime, but Jonathan desires that "they come into a passionate relationship with Jesus that will last for an eternity."
Jonathan graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Religion and Wesley Biblical Seminary with an M.A. in Biblical Literature. He will graduate with his Doctor of Ministry at Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor in 2027. Before coming to Marvin, he was in full-time ministry for six years, serving as both a college minister and hospitality minister.
In his free time, Jonathan loves the academic side of ministry and teaches adjunct Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry at Heritage Bible College (NC). He is also passionate about tennis, which he coached collegiately for multiple years, watching baseball, and playing pickleball. If he is not playing pickleball or actively watching his favorite MLB team, the NY Mets, choke like they always do, he is most likely talking theology or watching Star Wars and the rest of the original 1990's and early 2000's Nickelodeon television shows.
